The Rhythm of Layers
Water never flows in a straight line. Every movement is a memory, every
wave a transformation. “Wavy Ebru” traces precisely this transformation. In
this exhibition, ebru is not merely a traditional decorative art; it is a visual
record of flow, uncertainty, and inner rhythm. The relationship between the
paint, water, and fabric oscillates between control and chance, patience and
exuberance. Each pattern testifies to an unrepeatable moment.
Here, the wave is not merely a form. It is a state of emotion, a rupture of
memory, and sometimes a silent resistance. Each ripple expanding on the
water's surface becomes a metaphor for the relationship a person establishes
with time, nature, and their own inner voice.
“Wavy Ebru” (Wavy Marbling) advocates for movement, not perfection. It
makes visible an aesthetic that is transformative, not static; that changes, not
fixed. Because life is like water; it changes direction when touched, deepens
when pressed, and creates its own pattern when set free. This exhibition
invites the viewer not just to look, but to surrender to the flow. Each work is
a brief vibration in the memory of water, a long echo in the human soul.
